Blizzard Entertainment cancels BlizzConline scheduled for 2022. The company hit the negative headlines this year.

Blizzard Entertainment has cancelled BlizzConline, scheduled for early 2022. The company announced on Tuesday that it would be taking a break. Blizzard Entertainment said it plans to revamp the event, which was first held 16 years ago.

The US company wants BlizzCon to be welcoming and as inclusive as possible in the future. Blizzard Entertainment did not provide any details about a possible date for the next event.

Blizzard Entertainment has been writing negative headlines in recent months. Among other things, the sexist corporate culture was denounced. A celebration like BlizzCon, where the community comes together every year, may therefore seem inappropriate to those responsible.

The American game developer did not name the problems in the company as an official reason for the cancellation. However, the plans for a reorientation give a hint. In a statement in September, Blizzard Entertainment had also announced a revision of its own corporate culture to create a better working environment.
