With visually impressive trailers, the first-person shooter has been making a name for itself for quite some time. Now we do not have to wait much longer for the release.
Atomic Heart presents a special and unconventional game world in various trailers even before the release. In the latest trailer from the Russian developer studio, we not only get new gameplay fodder, but also finally a concrete release date:
Release in February 2023
As revealed in the new trailer, Atomic Heart will be released on 21 February 2023 Originally, the shooter was still planned for the 4th quarter of 2022, but with the trailer they now confirm the already hinted at postponement. The developers have not yet explained why they have agreed on the new date, however there were already rumours in 2019 that the studio could not find a clear line for the shooter and the development therefore stalled.
What kind of game will Atomic Heart be?
Atomic Heart is a shooter in which you experience the story of a Russian secret agent from a first-person perspective. In an alternate reality, the Soviet Union was able to create a paradisiacal world through significant technological advances in robotics. But apparently something has gone wrong and you must get to the bottom of what is happening at a secret research facility. Robots have taken control there and are hostile towards you.
The game is characterised by its extraordinary world and creature design, which mixes Soviet influences with retro-futurism. You can already see the result in the new trailer, and this video shows you what the shooter looks like in gameplay.
In Atomic Heart, you not only use various melee and ranged weapons, but also defeat your opponents with elemental and telekinesis powers – Bioshock sends its regards.
Because Atomic Heart comes from a fairly unknown studio and promises an almost unbelievable experience in trailers, however, the game is often met with a fair amount of scepticism. Even Thomas, for whom the game could be a great shooter, doesn”t want to rule out that Atomic Heart could also fail. Read more about the game and its risks in his preview:
Atomic Heart has the potential to be shooter of the year, but can also fail horribly
What do you think of the latest trailer? Do you like the crazy universe of Atomic Heart? Or are the wacky robots and incomprehensible scenes in the videos a bit too much for you? Are you looking forward to the release, or are you still sceptical about whether this is really a good shooter? Feel free to write your opinion in the comments.
