In this “Pirate Anno” you found your own pirate republic. But the battle with competitors and established naval powers plays an important role

They are not completely foreign to the genre, but rarely do they play the leading role: Pirates in building strategy. Republic of Pirates wants to give the sometimes malicious contemporaries all the space they need, building a real pirate city and plundering at sea between the sunlit islands.

We tell you everything you need to know about (perhaps) the next secret building tip!

Pirate on land and at sea

What is the setting of the title?  The game is set in the Caribbean between 1690 and 1730 – the so-called Golden Age of Piracy.

History: Incidentally, the title refers to a true story. Between 1706 and 1718, there was a loose confederation of pirates whose quasi-capital was today’s Nassau. But then the British Admiralty put an end to their activities, at least under this official flag. For more information, click here to go to Wikipedia:

What exactly is Republic of Pirates about?

If you’ve ever played Tropico 2, the non-SciFi Annos or Port Royale, you’ll already know a good part of the core ideas of Republic of Pirates: Building, resource extraction, production, conquest and so on. However, none of the games in question are so precisely dedicated to the vision of a real republic of pirates in the middle of an island archipelago.

The aim is to build a legendary pirate utopia  Either during a historical campaign with over 30 hours of gameplay or in a free mode.

The following features form the pillars of the gameplay:

  • Resources and production: More than 100 unique buildings form production and infrastructure, with the help of which you can produce basic and luxury goods for your pirate citizens from the resources.
  • Real-time sea battles: With the help of a fleet of eight ship classes, from brigantines to ships of the line, you will conquer new areas of the island world in real-time sea battles. Of course, this also involves exploring and plundering. Our tip: There are certainly treasures to be found.
  • Diplomacy: You can forge alliances with other pirate clans or conclude contracts with influential national trading companies.
  • Missions: Receive orders to attack settlements or collect bounties. At the same time, you will have a say in how events unfold in the story through various decision-making options.

When will Republic of Pirates be released?  There is no exact release date yet. But the journey to the Caribbean in the golden age of pirates should start sometime next year via (Steam) and (Epic Games Store
