Capcom has released new gameplay footage of Resident Evil 4 Remake via Game Informer. In the ten-minute clip, we see some gameplay scenes from chapter 5.

The fate of Leon S. Kennedy is really not an enviable one. After successfully facing the Raccoon City disaster six years ago, he now works as an agent for the President of the United States of America. When his daughter Ashley is kidnapped, it is Leon”s job to free her from the clutches of the criminals.
The Resident Evil 4 remake features a familiar setting with fresh graphics, a revised story and modern gameplay. You can see a bit of the latter in the new video.

At the start of the gameplay clip we are about three hours into the game. Leon has successfully rescued Ashley from her prison and must now bring her to the extraction point in one piece. But of course it”s not quite that easy.

So we find ourselves in some combat scenes with the insane villagers and are shown how defenceless Ashley is without our protection. Since Ashley also doesn”t have a life gauge above her head in the Resident Evil 4 remake, we have to take extra care that she doesn”t take too much damage. At least you can let her know by pressing a button whether she should stay in your immediate vicinity or fall back a little. A feature that can be especially useful in approaching combat situations.

Capcom takes some of the pressure off our shoulders in the Resident Evil 4 remake, however. Because the developer does without the use of quick-time events. The feature, which was still popular “back then”, is now out of date and will therefore be replaced by other mechanics.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on 24 March for PC, PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S.
