Windy Meadow – A Roadwarden Tale aims to carry over the strengths of its predecessor, but also does some things differently, for example with the graphics.
The journey through the world of Roadwarden continues in 2023, but has changed visually: Windy Meadow – A Roadwarden Tale sends you into the life of a small fantasy town in the world founded by its predecessor. Here you will follow three characters through a crucial part of their lives
The game is described by the publisher as a visual novel, that is, a playable novel that has many everyday quiet moments, but can also take dramatic turns.
How does the game aim to inspire?
The core features of Windy Meadow – A Roadwarden Tale are:
- 99 percent of all text is dialogue, with this delivered through animated character portraits. The quasi-predecessor still relied on classic narration in book form here.
- There will be three protagonists:
- Huntress Vena, who is tempted to leave behind the peaceful village life along with her beloved family to become part of a merchant”s guild while hunting riches.
- Fable, who dreams of being a famous bard one day.
- The herbalist Ludicia, who struggles with a decision in her past that still casts its shadow today.
- Decisions: From seemingly tiny moments to moments that change lives at first glance, you accompany the three through their everyday lives. Your decisions will help determine dialogue options, the feelings of NPCs and the end of the game.
The three screenshots show the completely different presentation of the title compared to that of Roadwarden:
