In the open game world of Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn you fight undead (boss) enemies with axe, magic and an AI partner. The developers are Soulslike experts.
Old, evil gods are quite annoying. They just don’t want to die and are always causing trouble. Just like in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, a new action role-playing game with an open world.
For there the gates of the underworld have opened and the old god sends rows and rows of undead into the world of the living, from decrepit skeletons to giant bosses of the Elden Ring brand.
Motivated by a personal desire for revenge, the protagonist of the single-player adventure must lead humanity in the fight against the god and his subjects and wage the final battle for the gates of the underworld. But you can see all that for yourself in the first trailer:
Flintlock: Gameplay like in Soulslike?
Similar to Greedfall, the Flintlock character Nor Vanek uses her axe as well as a musket to finally snuff out the undead minions. The protagonist is accompanied by the mystical creature Enki, a cross between a dog and a dragon.
Enki can paralyse enemies with her magical powers and is presumably controlled in a similar way to Loki in God of War: Most of the time, the AI mutt trots dutifully behind you to then target certain enemies in battle on your command. You use this for effective combo attacks.
It is not yet clear whether the difficulty level will be challenging like in a Soulslike game. However, developers A44 Games have previously demonstrated a penchant for high difficulty games with Ashen. The press release speaks only of a “rewarding combat system”.

Apropos Open World: Not only millions of players are currently immersed in Elden Ring, the GlobalESportNews editorial team has also caught Souls fever. Colleague Géraldine, for example, finds it crazy exciting to explore the world in the From Software game:
When is release and on which platforms?
A44 Games and publisher Kepler Interactive have not yet revealed an exact release date. However, Flintlock is still scheduled for release in 2022. Just like Ashen, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, and the title will also appear on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Console versions for PS5/4 and Xbox Series X/S/One are also in the works.
