Power consumption and performance are set to increase significantly with Nvidia’s next graphics cards

It is not yet known when Nvidia will officially unveil the new generation of graphics cards. However, a new leak should now provide an insight into the performance of the RTX 5080 and its power consumption

In detail:

  • The information comes from the well-known leaker kopite7kimi.
  • The RTX 5080 is said to offer 10 percent more performance than the RTX 4090 and have a power consumption of 400W.
  • The RTX 5090 is even said to have a power consumption of 600W. No statement was made about the performance of the card.

But beware:The information should be treated with caution as it has not been officially confirmed.

Consumption could therefore increase significantly compared to its predecessors.

For classification:The power consumption of the RTX 4080 Superis320W.

The statement about the consumption of both cards is unclear, however. For graphics cards, both Thermal Design Power (TDP) and Total Graphics Power (TGP) can be meant.

The main difference between the two values can be considerable.

  • TDP refers to the graphics chip only.
  • TGP refers to the complete graphics card including chip.

It is therefore possible that the two consumption values will be lower in comparison.

At this point in time, it is not possible to say for sure. Nvidia will probably only provide clarity at the official presentation of the cards.

It is also still unclear whether Nvidia is working on anew Titan GPU.

Sales not due to start until 2025

Back in July, it was rumored that Nvidia would not bring the new generation of graphics cardsto stores until 2025

However, they are set to be unveiled this year.

What do you expect from the new graphics cards from Nvidia? Have you already got your eye on it, or would you prefer to wait and see what AMD pulls out of the hat next? Feel free to leave us a comment below:
