There is still little information about the RX 9070 (XT). However, an online retailer has apparently let the cat out of the bag and provided three new details.

At the last CES 2025, AMD unveiled the first models of the new RDNA 4 graphics card generation, as expected. With the RX 9070 and the associated XT version, two GPUs are on the way, but so far there are few details about them.

While AMD’s gaming boss Frank Azor recently tried to explain why only little information was presented about the RX 9070 (XT), the first dealers seem to already have the two graphics cards in stock. These dealers have apparently prematurely started to put corresponding listings for the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT online.

  • This includes the Ukrainian hardware shop “Artline”, which briefly published a now deleted unboxing video of the Asus Radeon RX 9070 XT TUF Gaming. The portal Videocardz was able to secure screenshots of this.
  • The information that this and other GPU models are to be launched “very soon” also comes from Asus. At least that’s what the manufacturer’s Turkish marketing department stated on X/Twitter in a post that was also deleted and also “secured” by Videocardz

But the most exciting development was the premature publication by Greek online retailer “Unimax”, which briefly made the smaller Asus Radeon RX 9070 XT TUF Gaming available for pre-order. This listing reveals three details that have not yet been communicated by AMD.

    • The base clock of the Asus GPU should be 2,400 MHz, with a boost of up to 2,970 MHz
    • The pure chip is said to have 64 compute units and raytracing cores The memory is expected to be 16 GB GDDR6
    • According to Unimax, the delivery of the graphics cards should start on January 23, 2025, so it would only be three days until the actual release.

As things stand at present, including the latest rumor from Momomo_us, who is considered reliable, the technical data sheet for the two AMD graphics cards looks like this:

Radeon RX 9070 Radeon RX 9070 XT
Chip Navi 48 XT (4 nm)

Performance comparisons are currently circulating, especially for the RX 9070 XT: with the given specifications, the GPU should be able to take on the RTX 4080 Super in rasterizing and the RTX 4070 Ti Super in raytracing. However, specific information about the TDP is not in circulation.

However, the price of the two AMD graphics cards, which will make or break the success of the new RDNA-4 series, remains questionable.
