The specs of the Radeon RX 9070 XT that have already been leaked have been confirmed again. At the same time, a Canadian retailer has released the first prices, which only partially indicate an “aggressive pricing strategy”.
The guesswork around the RX 9070 XT continues – probably until the end of February, when AMD is finally planning the official release of the new graphics cards after a CES keynote that was received as warmly as insufficient by fans.
The graphics card is said to already be in the hands of retailers, so it’s not surprising that leaks have since been made public. One such leak comes from the portal HKEPC, which recently presented a screenshot of the Radeon RX 9070 XT in the GPU-Z tool.
- Consequently, AMD is building the chip of the new RDNA-4 graphics card based on Navi 48. A total of 4,096 shader units are available here.
- The 16 GB GDDR6 VRAM from manufacturer SK Hynix, which has already been reported several times, should be available for storage. With a 256-bit interface at 20 Gbps, the RX 9070 XT achieves a bandwidth of around 640 GB/s.

The GPU-Z screenshot also provides new information about the clock rate. The model built into the HKEPC is said to clock at 2,570 MHz in the base clock; it is clocked up to 3.1 GHz via boost. It is unclear which custom model this is based on.
HKEPC also submitted another screenshot for verification: In the recently released benchmark tool for the upcoming Monster Hunter: Wilds, the RX 9070 XT achieves a score of 36,102 points.
The measurement was taken at full HD resolution with high graphics settings and ultimately resulted in an average of around 212 FPS. However, the results were also achieved with FSR and Frame Generation.
RX 9070 (XT): Prices of custom GPUs are appearing in Canada that do not bode well.
Apart from the HKEPC leak of the technical specifications, which fundamentally confirm previous rumors in this context, the AMD graphics card has also appeared in Canada.
The online store “Canada Computers” (via Videocardz) had listed various custom GPUs from Powercolor and XFX for a short period of time, some of which had striking MSRP differences.
- The cheapest custom GPU of the regular RX 9070 starts at $586 (around €560). For the RX 9070 XT, on the other hand, the cheapest model from XFX is priced at $697 (around €668).
- For comparison: the RTX 5070 starts at $549 in the US, the Ti version at $749. The RDNA-4 generation will probably primarily compete with these two Nvidia GPUs and therefore also apply an “aggressive pricing strategy” to the RX 9070 XT.
However, it is highly unlikely that the direct conversion into euros will end up with us as an MSRP – provided that the Canadian shop is right at all.
Because as in the US, Canadian shops do not include VAT in their prices, which is added here at a rate of 19 percent. Also, net prices in Europe are generally higher than in North America. So if you want to believe the leak, you’ll probably have to expect at least 650 euros for the RX 9070 and 850 euros for the RX 9070 XT.
In any case, according to the Canadian listings, prices for the custom models of the new AMD graphics cards can skyrocket.
The most expensive model of the RX 9070 XT is the “PowerColor Red Devil” GPU, which costs $865 (about 830 euros). Meanwhile, the regular RX 9070 is called the “XFX QuickSilver OC” and costs $662 (about 635 euros).
