The last Lego set was Rivendell, a well-known location from Tolkien’s Middle-earth. Now it’s the turn of the Dark Lord’s Tower
The Lord of the Rings is back in full swing. First a new Middle-earth movie with Andy Serkis is announced, then there is a first trailer for the second season of Rings of Power and now Lego presents a big new setwith which you can build the fortress of the Dark Lord Sauron.
A set to subjugate them
The new Lego model of Barad-Dûr is due to be released in June and is announced with a humorous trailer, which is also intended to appeal to what is probably the largest target group: namely adults who can afford the proud price of 460 euros

As you can see in the video, you need plenty of space for the fortress. Sauron’s eye at the top of the tower is a full 83 centimetres away from the deepest dungeon – and can of course also light up in menacing red. Or as Saruman would say: His gaze pierces clouds, shadows, earth and flesh!
Of course, the set also includes minifigures of important characters. In addition to the Dark Lord himself, there is also the Mouth of Sauron, Gollum, Frodo, Sam and some Orcs, which you can spread out in the rooms of the fortress that are open on one side. And of course there is also the One Ring, the creation of which is covered in the Amazon series:
Barad-Dûr is not the first major Lego set for Lord of the Rings. Last year, a Rivendell set was released that let you rebuild the Council of Elrond. Now, of course, the question is what the toy company will come up with next. Maybe we’ll get a two-meter high Minas Tirith.
If Lego sets are too expensive or not quite your thing, then Middle-earth fans need not despair. The new season of Rings of Power will start on Amazon Prime in August and the first details about the story are already available. And with Tales of the Shire, a game will soon be released in which everything revolves around the cozy lifestyle of the hobbits
