Paradox Interactive today announced that Shadowrun Trilogy, a collection of three acclaimed role-playing games set in the iconic fantasy cyberpunk setting of Shadowrun, will be released on next-generation consoles on 21 June 2022. Shadowrun, that’s pen-&-paper role-playing in a dark-future video game guise. If you are into both fantasy and sci-fi and have always wanted to see these two genres combined in one medium, you will definitely get your money’s worth with Shadowrun and experience unimagined role-playing freedom with your story.

Roleplaying game in a cyberpunk setting and isometric perspective

The Shadowrun Trilogy are remastered versions of the Shadowrun Returns role-playing games originally published by Harebrained Schemes. They have now been updated for a console experience and feature upscaled graphics, improved performance and controller-optimised gameplay. All three titles in the series will be released simultaneously for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and are available for pre-order on all platforms from today.

Shadowrun Returns was originally funded via Kickstarter in just 28 hours and is the first game funded via Kickstarter to be released after raising over $1 million. It is a story-heavy role-playing game with turn-based tactical combat set in the famous Shadowrun universe.

Shadowrun Returns was developed by Jordan Weisman, creator of the original Shadowrun tabletop role-playing game, and was released to critical acclaim for PC and mobile platforms. Two sequels were released shortly after. The standalone sequels Shadowrun: Dragonfall – Director’s Cut and Shadowrun: Hong Kong – Extended Edition, along with Shadowrun Returns, make up the Shadowrun Trilogy, which will be released for consoles later this year.

More information about Shadowrun Trilogy and the possibility to pre-order it for the different platforms can be found on the official homepage of Paradoxinteractive. Another role-playing game for gamers who want something more detailed is Pathfinder and its latest sequel Wrath of the Righteous.
