Fans and interested parties were able to set sail at the end of December and gain their first gaming experience in Skull & Bones. After this closed beta sea voyage, Ubisoft is now planning an open beta.

Could Skull & Bones really be heading for release? If you look at the latest video by Senior Community Developer Alexis Cretton, it could indeed be the case. On the one hand, he talks about the successful closed beta that took place at the end of December. According to him several hundred thousand players dared to take to the ocean and fought 4 million nautical battles during this time. The community had sunk a proud 3 million ships and covered an astonishing distance of 7 million kilometers in their sailors.

After this eventful (Closed Beta) according to Cretton, amazing feedback has been received, which will be incorporated into the release process and post-release.
Nevertheless, we want to give all fans and interested parties the opportunity to take their first exploratory trips in Skull & Bones. That’s why Cretton announced an Open Beta to take place in the coming weeks.

With only four weeks to go until the release of Skull & Bones, the question naturally arises as to when such an event could be held. The assumption is that an open beta weekend will be held two weeks before release to give the team enough time to evaluate the feedback.
However, this is merely speculation on our part. For exact details, we’ll have to wait for information from Ubisoft itself

Dramatic ups and downs for Skull & Bones

Skull & Bones has been in developer hell for over a decade now. In that time, Ubisoft has postponed the hotly debated multiplayer game six times, canceled pre-orders and refunded money. Now it is finally time for the title to head for the port of release. On February 16 it should finally be time.

Further information on Skull & Bones can be found in the following overview.
