Not only the Survival Mode, but also numerous other contents of the Anniversary Edition seemed to be missing at launch for many players.
The Skyrim Anniversary Edition is finally out, and many Dovahkiins were already looking forward to celebrating the 10th anniversary of Bethesda’s cult game with another 495 hours of gameplay. But instead, many fus-ro-dahs in the community are currently being shouted into the skies of, well, Himmelsrand.
Because those who are sitting in front of an empty mod list after buying the Anniversary Edition are not alone with this problem. Numerous players are complaining about missing content that should actually be there. We summarise the situation and keep you up to date.
Creation Club content missing from the game
Normally, the procedure should be as simple as possible for you: You buy the Anniversary Edition – either at full price or as an upgrade, install the game including the new mods and you’re ready to go. But although the game shows you that all the content has been downloaded, it does not appear in the game.
Especially the absence of the survival mode is currently causing annoyance, as many players were looking forward to experiencing the familiar adventure in a new, tougher way. But no such luck: The mods are nowhere to be seen and there are no indicators in the game either.
Technical problems: Some players also complain that their screen simply remains black after installation or that they cannot load their savegame. So if you want to be on the safe side and make sure that your ☻100-hour savegame is not damaged, you should be careful! There are also reports of problems with the frame rate.
This is the current situation
14:35 hrs: After an extremely unpleasant morning for fans, the situation seems to have improved in the meantime. We now have access to all Anniversary content on both PC and Xbox. At this point, an important note for those of you who are starting a new game: You must first leave the tutorial cave with Ralof before the mods and DLCs activate. Above all, the Survival Mode can only be activated from this point on – you should be offered it in a window that pops up as soon as the sun shines in your eyes.
How does it look for you? Are you still having problems with the DLCs, or does everything work for you in the meantime?
11:00am: We have asked Bethesda for a statement and will of course inform you as soon as we receive it. In the meantime, the situation is getting worse despite the actually optimistic tweet from Bethesda Support. In the replies, many players report that they can no longer load their game saves. Even logging in with the Bethesda account is not possible, the connection simply breaks.
10:19 a.m.: In the meantime, Bethesda has announced via Twitter that all login problems have been solved. However, the responses to this tweet are unanimous: Still no sign of new quests or even Survival Mode. So at the moment there is still no all-clear.
The login issues with Mods have been resolved. Thank you for your patience.

09:58am: Even if you have downloaded all available content in Creation Club, it will not be active in the game. As far as we know at the moment, this affects both new game saves and transferring savegames.
A look at the (official server status) shows no problems. Bethesda itself meanwhile announced via Twitter that there are problems with the login server:
⚠ We’re currently investigating login issues with Mods. Thank you for your patience. StatusPage: https://t.co/caEfnzzFE3

The mod list also remains orphaned. So it’s unclear whether the paid DLCs are really active or there are other technical problems that need to be fixed by Bethesda. There is no solution at the moment. However, we will always keep an eye on the situation for you and inform you about approaches after we have verified them.
The community is angry
The reactions in the Dragonblood community are correspondingly negative: Many players complain about the lack of content, especially because they paid for it. At the moment, there is also no generally valid solution known, which further drags down the mood.
At (Reddit) the complaints are piling up, and there are correspondingly clear comments: Stop buying this game all the time! and “It’s Bethesda, what do you expect?” are among the nicest variants.
So, now we’d like to let the Dovahkiins we care about have their say: namely you! How is the situation with you, can you already play with all mods and DLCs, or is the list still orphaned? And are there any other problems plaguing you with the Anniversary Edition? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
