Fans can soon look forward to a new mod remaster that promises next-gen graphics for Skyrim in 2024

“Skyrim never dies” – the mod community of The Elder Scrolls 5 has been making sure of this for 13 years. Hardly any other game has as many mods as Skyrim and soon a newly announced mod pack will surpass pretty much everything that has gone before in terms of graphics.

Modder Vektor9999, who is known for his Nolvus mods, recently announced a showcase of his current project Nolvus V6 via YouTube. Here’s what you can expect:

Who is Nolvus?

Nolvus is the brainchild of modder Vektor9999, who made a name for himself in the Skyrim community in 2020 with his Nolvus Reshade Mod.

He creates modlists for the role-playing game, which often contain hundreds of carefully selected fan improvements. Vektor9999 then checks whether they are all compatible with each other – anyone who has ever installed mods themselves will know the challenge of compatibility – and adjusts the result slightly if necessary.

In the meantime, the (Nolvus website) also has its own auto-installer, similar to Nexus Mods or Wabbajack – this is even (on Reddit) often found to be better. Auto-installers simplify mod management from download to installation to proper integration into the game

What can you expect from Nolvus V6?

According to the modder, the development of the new NextGen version is still in its infancy, which is why there is no exact release date. The only certainty is that the new preset will be released in 2024.

In the description of his graphics showcase on (YouTube) you will find a list of mods that will definitely be included in the modpack.

Among other things, the graphics quality is increased enormously by the mods. For example, ray tracing in 8K resolution, seasons and general improvements to light, water and other environmental design will be added.

It remains to be seen how many mods Nolvus V6 will contain in total and how much storage space you will need for them. However, the modpack will be released exclusively for PC.

Do you still play Skyrim yourself? If so, in the original graphics from 2011 or do you prefer to use graphics mods? Do you go wild or do you think “less is more”? Would you perhaps even like to see such an improvement for other Elder Scrolls titles such as Morrowind or Oblivion? Let us know your opinions in the comments!
