Just a few weeks before release, developer and publisher Rebellion presents a new trailer for Sniper Elite 5, in which those interested can marvel at the new modes of the shooter for the first time. As recently announced, the sequel to the celebrated series will be released at the end of May.
In Sniper Elite 5, you slip into the role of the sniper Karl Fairburne, who is in France at the time of D-Day 1944. During his mission, he uncovers the Operation Kraken conspiracy, which could still bring victory to the Nazis. Behind enemy lines, Karl must now put all his talent to the test to stop the operation and put a stop to the mastermind Abelard Möller. If you don’t want to fight the Axis powers alone, you can work together with an ally in the online co-op.
Off-Campaign
Besides the campaign, Sniper Elite 5 also offers two other modes. The invasion mode can be activated while playing the story mode and provides additional thrills. Other players can invade a session as Axis snipers and take Karl under fire themselves. Meanwhile, the opponents command AI soldiers who carry out a localisation of Karl. But Karl can also fight back by using the phones placed in the level to pinpoint the locations of the attackers.
The multiplayer mode is divided into four other modes. These allow a lot of customisation freedom so players can create matches to their own liking.
Customisations & improvements of Sniper Elite 5
In addition, the kill cam in Sniper Elite 5 has also received an upgrade. Now, precisely executed pistol and SMG kills also trigger the kills. Players can see how bones deflect the bullet, causing devastating damage to the victims. Last but not least, players can customise their weapons in various ways. The stock, magazines, bolt housing, barrel, scope and sights can all be customised, as can the material of the weapon itself.
Sniper Elite 5 will be released on 26 May for PC, Play Station and Xbox. Along with this, the shooter will also be released in the Xbox Game Pass.
