Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is waiting in the wings. We have tested the game and share our impressions!
Song of Nunu is an adventure and story game which will be released this autumn. While one is originally used to titles like The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story with lots of suspense and action from publisher Riot Forge, this game seems to take a different approach.
Want a big, fluffy best friend?
In Song of Nunu, you play both little Nunu and, in places, his best friend Willump, two characters from the League of Legends universe.
Knowledge of LoL is not necessary for this game, but you will meet other characters from the popular MOBA.
As befits a League of Legends story game, you will follow Nunu and Willump on their adventure as they explore Freljord.
The focus is on puzzles that you can solve with a flute and thus influence the environment, as well as strengthening your bond with Willump. These are also not too difficult to solve, which fits the relaxed mood of the game.
Generally, the game developed by Tequila Works can be categorised as a cozy game. Even when there are fights, they tend to be short and less hectic. The soundscape and the design also contribute to this.
The game is a bit of a challenge.
The best feature: A “Hug-Button “ So a button that is only meant for Nunu and Willump to hug each other (this can be very pleasant especially after an exhausting LoL round).
While playing, we also noticed that Willump actually feels like a friend. He doesn’t just run after you and stand around when we as Nunu stop, but also looks around, sits down or plays with the snow.
The two of them also talk constantly, as far as a conversation with a Yeti is possible. If he is needed, Willump is immediately there again, so that you never feel alone.
A perfect cozy game?
The controls and mechanics of Song of Nunu feel natural and you quickly understand the individual abilities and functions. Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is expected to be released this autumn for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series and Xbox One. However, there is no exact release date yet.
