After strategy and role-playing games, developer Shiro Games surprises with an MMO about crafting and economics.

At this year’s PC Gaming Show, French studio Shrio Games presented their latest project. Following the 4X strategy game Dune: Spice Wars and the single-player role-playing game Wartales, SpaceCraft is an MMO set in space.

This is what SpaceCraft is about

To escape extinction at the hands of an alien menace, humanity flees through a mysterious portal to a distant galaxy. As one of the survivors, you must explore and colonize new planets.

Curious? The reveal trailer gives you a first impression of the mood in SpaceCraft:

As is common in a sandbox MMO, you can build your own spaceship and travel to different planets to search for resources. You can either travel as a lone trader or team up with other players to form Corposand go together.

In both orbit and on the planets you can build large bases consisting of residential units, energy stations, data centers and more.

In addition, there are automated facilities for resource extraction , similar to the factory construction hit Satisfactory. You should also be able to create structures for further processing of materials.

In SpaceCraft, a lot revolves around the economy and crafting, which is why there is also a real-time marketplace where resources and other products can be traded.

In addition, you will encounter military, political, but also economic factions that you can join. These groups are designed to provide certain bonuses and advantages, and also send you on missions.

SpaceCraft will focus primarily on crafting, as well as building houses and production facilities. All of this will converge in the game’s ever-evolving economic system. However, Shiro Games has not yet revealed exactly how this will work. A release via Steam is planned for 2025, but it is not known whether this will be accompanied by early access.
