Jedi: Fallen Order 2 has not even been officially announced yet. But an established insider now provides potential information on the Star Wars game’s reveal and release date.
That Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is coming is an open secret. EA and Respawn Entertainment have not officially announced the sequel yet, but after the success of the first part it is actually inevitable. In addition, industry expert Jason Schreier confirmed some time ago that the sequel is in development.
Now the only question is when Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will be announced and released. Insider Jeff Grubb could finally shed some light on this. By the way, if you are interested in what Star Wars games are currently in development, you can get an overview in the following article:

When Jedi: Fallen Order 2 might be released
What the new rumours say
Announcement before E3? According to Jeff Grubb (via Giantbomb) Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will be announced and presented in detail before E3 in June 2022. However, it is not known whether this will take place in the course of a separate event, for example in the spring. We still have to wait for official information on this.
Release as early as 2022? Jeff Grubb suspects that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 could be released as early as the end of this year. At the same time, however, he does not rule out the possibility of a 2023 release, which would also be more realistic. Either way, according to the rumour, fans won’t have to wait too much longer for the return of Cal Kestis.
How reliable is the source? Jeff Grubb is a journalist for gaming website Giant Bomb who regularly shares inside information with the public. His insights and prognosis are usually considered trustworthy, even if they are not always spot on. However, as this is an unconfirmed report, fans should wait for official information from Electronic Arts first.
How realistic is the release timeframe?
What we know about the development so far: Even before the release of the first Jedi: Fallen Order in November 2019, publisher EA reportedly allowed the development of a sequel. This was followed by a report from Jason Schreier in December 2019 that the sequel had been given the green light internally.
According to this, Respawn should have been working on Jedi: Fallen Order 2 since the end of 2019, which makes a release in late 2022 or 2023 not unrealistic.
This can be concluded for the release: Of course, modern AAA games are becoming more and more cost and time intensive, but Respawn is not launching a completely new brand. For the sequel, the developers can already draw on an extensive foundation and do not have to create everything from scratch.
The biggest challenge might be to adapt the game to the NextGen technology of the new Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. But since a NextGen version was already released for the first Jedi: Fallen Order, Respawn was obviously able to familiarise itself with it. Accordingly, we consider a release of Fallen Order 2 in 2023 at the latest to be quite realistic.
