Even before its official release, Outlaws is causing a lot of discontent. On PS5, a bug meant that early access players had to delete their saves. Those affected are not satisfied with Ubisoft’s reaction

Star Wars Outlaws has just been released today, but even before the official release, the game is causing problems on the PS5.As we have already reported, a patch in the Early Access version meant that owners of the PlayStation 5 version had to start a new save game to avoid problems caused by bugs.

The only annoying thing was that these users had paid extra to be able to play the game three days before the actual release. This is because you had to be a buyer of the 110 or 130 euro Gold or Ultimate Edition of the action game for Early Access

Understandably, those affected were very displeased. Some pre-orders already had a double-digit number of hours in Star Wars Outlaws on the clock. That’s why Ubisoft has now reacted and announced:Those who have lost their savegame on PS5 will receive a reward.

Modest rewards

However, the rewards are quite modestConcretely, the publisher announced that those affected would receive a cosmetic in-game trinket for Kay Vess’ ship and 100 Ubisoft Connect points. Players could use these to buy further in-game rewards of their choice or discounts in the Ubisoft Store. To put this into perspective: 100 points currently entitles you to a 20 percent discount on your next purchase

For many players, this does not go far enough On Redditone usercomplains that he has lost 15 hours of game time due to the resetAnother user complainsthat he has already invested a lot of time to reach the maximum level with three trainers. Now being reset makes him think about just quitting Outlaws

Some are now even demanding a partial refund of the purchase pricefor the botched early access.

Other users, on the other hand, write that those affected are themselves to blame After all, the past has taught us never to pre-order games and to wait for the launch and corresponding tests and patches, especially for the big AAA releases – that’s the diplomatic version (viaReddit). Userfiremage22 put it more drastically: “Why does anyone still trust Ubisoft”.

The game itself, on the other hand, has it all: Our tester Dimi spent three days in Outer Rim and gives the game a rock-solid rating of 84. Although Outlaws is not a masterpiece on the scale of Witcher 3,it is still an unforgettable open-world story. You can find our test video embedded above.
