Last week, Disney+ and Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars: Visions is entering its second season. After Japanese animation studios celebrated the Star Wars universe in the first season, it’s now the turn of a motley crew of other nations.

At the end of 2021, Japanese studios used the diversity of anime to result in further stories within the Star Wars universe. Since then, you can see the result in the anthology Star Wars: Visions. Now the series has been expanded with a second season. This season brings together a colourful potpourri from various international studios and presents new, colourful stories. Look forward to contributions from El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Aardman (United Kingdom), Studio Mir (South Korea), Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), D’art Shtajio (Japan) and Triggerfish (South Africa).

On 4 May  Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 premiered with the first episode Sith Continuing with Screecher’s ReachIn the StarsI Am Aour MotherJourney to the Dark HeadThe Spy DancerThe Bandits of Golak and The Pit Finally, the new season concludes with the episode Aaus’s Song
James Waugh, executive producer of the anthology, had this to say about the project: “… We are very proud to present the list of studios we have worked with. Each short is incredible, full of heart, scope, imagination and the values that Star Wars make stories distinctive – all while opening up new avenues that show what a Star Wars story can be. “

Star Wars: More than just the Skywalker family

It becomes clear that Disney and Lucasfilm are working hard to detach the Star Wars universe from already established characters of the Skywalker saga. On the one hand, this is made clear by the official title of the new LEGO game . On the other hand, the series The Mandalorian also tries to break away from the saga, even though the series often branches out with it. However, this is probably what makes the series such a success.
The Wizarding World franchise (aka. Harry Potter franchise) is also trying its hand at it right now with Hogwarts Legacy in it.
