Starfield: the most successful launch in Bethesda’s history

Starfield has been available everywhere for two days – and has already broken a huge record. The open world adventure is riding the most successful release in Bethesda’s history.

After the massive PR campaign around Starfield, it’s not surprising that the rush for the title is correspondingly huge. How much Bethesda itself is convinced of the space epic was shown not least by the letter that Todd Howard himself wrote to the game testers.

The hard work of the development studio now seems to have paid off. Because as they announced in the social media, a proud 6 million hobby astronauts play the title. Thus the open world game celebrates the most successful release in the history of Bethesda.

The joy over this record, however, is accompanied by less unflattering comments on Twitter. Here I refer less to the comments that doubt such a large community increase.

Much more about the anti-Semitic gloating as it accumulates under the post. Since over 6 million people died in the Holocaust, some users here draw parallels and use the post to act out some very questionable humor. For example, the term “gorillion” is dropped, where it is a made up number to downplay the numbers of victims.
