The first State of Play of 2025 is over and Sony showed a lot of new games in the 40-minute show – of course with a strong focus on PS5, but there’s also news for PC

Borderlands 4
Gearbox is showing the upcoming installment of the popular looter-shooter series with a new trailer. It also contains some very important information: The release is on September 22, 2025.
Days Gone Remastered
The open-world game in the zombie apocalypse is being re-released especially for PS5 and PS5 Pro and enriched with new content such as a tough permadeath mode. Days Gone Remastered will be released on April 25.
Saros
Housemarque, the developers of PlayStation hits such as Returnal, Matterfall and Resogun, are announcing a new sci-fi action game called Saros. Instead of gameplay, there is only a cinematic trailer, release is 2026
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
The legendary Shinobi series returns with a new installment. Sega is releasing the sidescroller with modernized retro graphics on August 28, 2025
Tides of Annihilation
The newly revealed action-adventure Tides of Annihilation transports elements of the Arthus saga into a post-apocalyptic future. Set in the ruins of a lost world, spectacular fantasy battles reminiscent of Bayonetta and Nier: Automata unfold. There is no release date yet.
Hell is Us
In addition to a trailer for the dark action-adventure, there is now finally a release date: from September 4, you can explore the surreal open world full of eerie secrets and take on the Hollow Walkers.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
The comeback of the stealth classic from 2004 shows new gameplay scenes and also reveals the release date: On August 28 & Snake is back on the hunt.
Lies of P: Overture
The stylish steampunk Soulslike Lies of P from 2023 is getting a new DLC installment that serves as a story prequel and lets you explore the game world of Krat for the first time before its downfall.
Mindseye
It’s no coincidence that Mindseye seems like a kind of sci-fi GTA: no less a figure than GTA producer Leslie Benzies is behind the action game. It’s about secret operations, neural implants and AI. And you have a drone as a companion! Release is in summer 2025.
Metal Eden
The developers of Ruiner reveal a lightning-fast single-player shooter set in an extremely stylish cyberpunk world. Cyborgs and wallrunning included. Release is on May 6, 2025

- Directive 8020: Hobby astronauts will experience a horror trip starting October 2nd
- Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Secret of the Mimic offshoot is coming on June 13th
- The Midnight Walk: The dark fantasy adventure has a special look
- Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny: The new edition of the samurai game will be released on May 23
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword: 2026 will be followed by a real sequel with a new hero
