Evening at 11pm, PlayStation developer Sony will reveal new information about upcoming video games. Hogwarts Legacy is once again among the most coveted speculations.

Sony announced the next State of Play on International Women’s Day. This 20-minute informational video takes a closer look at upcoming titles for the PlayStation 4 and 5.

On Wednesday from 11pm  Sony will present new game titles and updates to already known games. The State of Play “focuses primarily on great games from some of our popular Japanese publishers, but we’ll also have updates from other developers around the world,” officials say.

Are new images coming to Hogwarts Legacy?

Since it was first announced in the September 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase, Hogwarts Legacy has been considered one of the most anticipated video games for Sony consoles. The open-world game set in the Harry Potter universe is still slated for a 2022 release, so it’s coming more and more into focus.

According to insider Tom Henderson, Warner Bros. has reportedly been holding off on content for the past few months, with Sony not yet giving any presentation options. Former lead designer Troy Leavitt commented via Twitter last Sunday that a new trailer would “fit the timing”. He was responding to a supposed leak from Podcast Now, which hinted at more official gameplay from 9 or 10 March. Accordingly, the rumour mill is churning on more information about Hogwarts Legacy during Sony’s State of Play on Wednesday.

The presentation will be broadcast on 9 March on the PlayStation channels of the platforms (Youtube) and (Twitch). Sony anticipates one piece of information: “In this edition, we have no updates on PlayStation VR2 titles or the hardware.” In addition to Hogwarts Legacy, speculation includes new content for God of War: Ragnarok and Final Fantasy 16.
