We’ve picked out our highlights for you, garnished them with a whole slew of other games and listed them for you along with our usual price comparison. Have fun browsing!

Highlights of the Week

Deathloop

(Genre: First-person shooter – Developer: Arkane Studios – Release: 14. September 2021 – Platform: Epic – Price: 30 Euro (reduced by 50 percent) – Offer valid until: June 16, 2022)

Are you in the mood for an atmospheric first-person shooter with an exciting story – at least as far as the basic premise is concerned? Then buying Deathloop is a decision you won’t regret.

What’s it about? Do you know the feeling that you get up in the morning and think: Wait a minute, I’ve had this day before!? This is exactly how it feels for the mercenary Colt Vahn, who actually finds himself in a time loop. But that’s not his only problem, because he also has to take out eight specific targets on the strange island.

?

Colt’s adversary, the tough Julianna Blake, has something against it, however, and so a turbulent action fun on the island unwinds that won’t let you go in a hurry. The replay value is increased above all by the fact that you can slip into the role of both characters and thus experience the action from both points of view.

You are still not completely convinced? Then read our review – again and again and again and …

Deathloop is not what you expected – and that’s a good thing

Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition

(Genre: Action Role Playing Game – Developer: Team Ninja – Release: 05. February 2021 – Platform: Epic – Price: 39 Euro (Reduced by 35 percent) – Offer valid until: 16 June 2022)

Samurai. Souls combat system. Japanese mythology. Chances are pretty good that already after those three buzzwords, some of you have clicked on the link and whipped out your credit card. But why is Nioh 2 such an ideal way for fans of Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and co. to fill the void created after Elden Ring

The way is the goal: You are transported to the warlike Sengoku era of Japan as a death-defying samurai. The game only gradually reveals to you via storytelling about the environment what exactly the plot is about. Therefore, we won’t tell you too much at this point. But you can look forward to all kinds of sinister demons from Japanese folklore that will kill you time and again. But if you like soulslikes, you’ll enjoy this form of self-torture anyway.

The Complete Edition includes the DLCs released so far The Tengu’s DiscipleDarkness in the Capital and The First Samurai . What Nioh 2 features in detail, and what technical stumbling blocks you should expect!

Epic Mega Sale

Have you noticed that both highlights of this week’s Midweek Madness are from the Epic Store? There’s a good reason for that, because from 19 May to 16 June 2022, the so-called Mega Sale is taking place, with over a hundred games on sale, some of them heavily discounted. Thanks to the 25 percent vouchers on selected games, you can save even more now and then. You can find all the reduced titles here:

Ubisoft Legendary-Sale

True legends are rare. Whether there are any of them at Ubisoft? You’ll have to decide for yourselves. But if you’ve always wanted to pick up Anno 1800, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, The Division 2 or Far Cry 6 for a bargain, the Legendary Sale, which runs until 31 May, might be worth your attention.

40 Years Electronic Arts – Anniversary Sale on GOG

Electronic Arts has a birthday. The sometimes loved, sometimes hated publisher is proudly turning 40 these days. But you don’t have to send cheesecake by airmail to the USA (we don’t even want to imagine the smell when you open it), but you can say thank you for the time together by buying some reduced EA titles on GOG. Whether it’s Crysis, Dragon Age or Dead Space – everyone should be able to find something here:

Epic gift only for a short time

While we’re on the subject of birthdays. You don’t even have to celebrate your own birthday and you can still get a gift. Sounds tempting, doesn’t it? All you have to do is open our article on the current free game at Epic. But hurry up, because the latest shooter hit is only available on the house until 26 May:

  • GreedFall – Gold Edition (Steam): The role-playing game has become a real insider’s tip since its release and can convince especially with its varied game world. (16 Euro, reduced by 60 percent)

  • Panzer Corps 2 (Steam): The turn-based strategy game sends you into challenging battles in World War II and was called a strategy highlight of 2020 by us in our review. (17 Euro, reduced by 50 percent)

  • Planet Coaster (Steam): You’re not into zoos and prefer to build the craziest roller coasters to enjoy the vomiting passengers afterwards? No problem, Planet Coaster is also heavily reduced. (9 Euro, reduced by 75 percent)

  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite (Steam): A cooperative third-person shooter set in the iconic universe of the Alien movies. But for you, that also means facing off against the beastly Xenomorphs. (20 Euro, reduced by 50 percent)

  • Ghostwire: Tokyo (Epic): You don’t have a problem with monotonous continuous work in an open world? Then you could still have fun with Ghostwire: Tokyo, because at least the backdrop of the Japanese metropolis was excellently realised. (40 Euro, reduced by 34 percent)

  • Old World (GOG): Oh come on, of course we won’t let you go without another strategy game! In the turn-based 4X game Old World you won’t be able to overlook the parallels to cult games like Civilization or Stellaris. Bad? Our test says: Definitely not! (36 Euro, reduced by 10 percent)
