Table of Contents
Highlight of the week: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
(Genre: Action-Adventure – Developer: Ubisoft Quebec – Release: 10/05/2018)
Shortly after a surprise free DLC was released for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, linking the game to the latest instalment in the series, you can now play the open-world adventure for free. In Odyssey, you can discover ancient Greece from the perspective of either Kassandra or Alexios and, for the first time in the franchise, you can choose dialogue options and complete quests in different ways. Also included is a new combat system with four active special abilities, which is significantly more complex than its predecessor, Origins.
The weekend will hardly be enough to play through Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, but at least you can take a short tour through the huge open world and then decide whether you want to buy the game in one of the winter sales. By the way, if you decide to buy, your progress from the weekend will be saved and you can continue playing straight away.
Who is this for? If you like exploring large open-worlds and are not afraid of a multitude of side quests, you should give Odyssey a chance. Especially if you like Assassin’s Creed, but have so far shied away from the new role-playing elements of the newer parts, now is the right moment to try out the game. If you’re not sure. Be aware, however, that you’ll need to download about 46 gigabytes to play the open-world adventure.
How do you get it? On Ubisoft’s (promotion page), you can simply select the platform you want, sign up if necessary, and then download the game immediately.
- Offer valid until: Until 20 December 2021, you can play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for free.
