  • Developer: Mighty Kingdom
  • Publisher: Funcom
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch
  • Release: 1 March 2022

When it was announced, everyone thought it was a joke at first. But no, Conan Chop Chop is a real game, as absurd as it sounds: In it, you shred your way through the monster-infested universe of Conan the Barbarian as a cartoon character.

The release was actually planned for 2019, but had to be postponed several times. Instead, the game offers you a co-op mode for up to four players at the start. You should first fight out which of you is the true Arnold with broadswords.

You will gradually unlock new weapons and skills with which you can customise your comic book fighter. Of course, there’s also plenty of loot just waiting for you to conquer it!

Conan Chop Chop – No, this game is no joke!

He has lost his memory and tries to heal it through his beloved music. This story has no spoken words at all and concentrates entirely on sounds – the trailer above gives you a good impression.

From time to time, fate doesn’t mean well for your laboriously built platform. Then you have to withstand heavy seas, fend off pirates and giant squids and never forget fire protection! If you loved drawing your own worlds as a child (or as an adult, you’re never too old for that!) and would have loved to be fully immersed in them, RPG Time: The Legend of Wright will probably make your heart skip a beat. In this unusual role-playing game, the game world is a sketchpad. The story is told partly through animated scenes or via virtual flipbooks. Besides battles, there are also shooter interludes, puzzles, strategy mini-games and more between the scribbled pages.

With some delay, the role-playing game will now be released in mid-March 2022; actually, the release was supposed to take place at the end of 2020. The developers have used the additional time for the necessary fine-tuning. A total of nine years of development time went into Legend of Wright.

  • Release: 10 March 2022

A thrilling mix of cracking dungeon action and a story about family and growing up: In Young Souls, you play as teen twins Jenn and Tristan, who have been adopted by a genius scientist. When he suddenly disappears, the two stumble upon a portal to a goblin world – and fight hordes of monsters and tough boss opponents there.

In between, they recover from their exertions in the real world, gear up for the next battle or hang out in the gym. Would you like to have a friend by your side? No problem, you can also control the siblings in co-op as a duo.

In the action RPG Young Souls, you fight goblins and pump in the gym

A little fox with a sword and robes reminiscent of Link: that’s your character in the action adventure Tunic. The gameplay is somewhere between Zelda and Death’s Door, the battles are surprisingly crisp – don’t let the cute exterior fool you! It’s all about perfect timing, clever attacks and cunning manoeuvres, mistakes are punished mercilessly.

We played the free demo of Tunic a while ago and tell you here how we liked it:

Cyberpunk fans, take note! Anno: Mutationem may sound like the fancy spin-off of a certain German strategy game series, but it’s a new, futuristic action adventure with role-playing game touches. As Ann, you fight your way through the neon-lit quarters of a gloomy cyberpunk city, wielding a blue light katana – or a powerful blaster, for particularly forceful arguments.

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness

  • Genre: Role Playing Game
  • Developer: GrapeOcean Technologies
  • Publisher: V Publishing
  • Platforms: PC, Mac, Linux
  • Release: 17 March 2022 (Early Access since 28 August 2021)

Some of you may have already played Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness. After all, it has been available as Early Access since summer 2021. But you’ll get the full role-playing experience from 17 March 2022, when the final release is due. A lot has happened since the launch, more than 20 updates have been released: more quests, a tutorial, new areas and much more.

Black Geyser follows in the big footsteps of oldschool RPGs like Baldur’s Gate and already impressed us last year – especially with its amazing gameplay depth. The latest (reviews on Steam) are also very positive. However, the real-time battles with pause function are not to everyone’s taste.

Syberia: The World Before

* PC Stores: (Steam), (Epic), (GOG)

  • Genre: Adventure
  • Developer: Microids
  • Publisher: Microids
  • Platforms: PC
  • Release: 18 March 2022

Syberia: The World Before aims to erase the blunder called Syberia 3. In the latest part of the popular adventure series, you return to the steampunky world of the predecessors, but this time with much more modern 3D graphics. You control two characters at the same time: lawyer Kate Walker you already know, new is the young pianist Dana. Space and time lie between the two, Kate gets into a new adventure in the taiga in 2004. Dana, on the other hand, lives in 1939 in the fictional town of Vaghen, which is threatened by the looming Second World War.

Of course, you will once again be confronted with complex puzzles, explore beautiful scenery and click your way through the world in classic adventure style. Official screenshots already reveal that we are once again on the move on different continents.

A Memoir Blue

  • Genre: Adventure
  • Developer: Cloisters Interactive
  • Publisher: Annapurna Interactive
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch
  • Release: 24 March 2022

A Memoir Blue might be right up your alley if you’re looking for an emotional story game whose delicate trailer soundtrack could waft right out of Life is Strange. There’s a bit of Abzu in there too: You float through underwater worlds as athlete Miriam as you rediscover memories of your magical childhood. The story confronts you with sorrow and sad moments, but also lets you experience successes and the loving relationship with Miriam’s mother.

The game sees itself as an “interactive poem”, but without any spoken words. So be prepared for very simple gameplay!

A Memoir Blue takes you on a melancholic underwater journey

Forward: Escape the Fold

PC Stores: (Steam)

  • Genre: Strategy / Roguelike
  • Developer: Two Tiny Dice
  • Publisher: Asylum Labs
  • Platforms: PC, Mobile (no release yet)
  • Release: 29 March 2022

If you fancy tackling another unusual dungeon crawler, don’t miss Forward: Escape the Fold. Seven different champions want to be steered by you through the levels full of monsters and to give the beasts a run for their money with special abilities. The environments are represented by game cards, as are your captured items and treasure chests. So you have to keep a cool head in every tricky situation and rely on the right strategy.

As usual in Roguelikes, death awaits you around every corner – but you face it bravely over and over again, becoming stronger with each run and (hopefully) mastering your heroes’ skills.
