Are you looking for new games for the weekend and beyond? My tips are guaranteed to be fun and are currently on offer

Making a virtue out of necessity again:Game tips from my own library that are currently on sale at Steam, Epic and GOG!Does that sound like something? See, so let’s go straight to title numero uno.

These games await you:

  • Summerhouse (Steam)
  • Severed Steel (Steam)
  • Greak: Memories of Azur (Epic)
  • A Short Hike (GOG)
  • Call of Cthulhu (GOG)

Summerhouse

  • Release: March 8, 2024
  • Genre: Construction game
  • Price: 4 euros (25 percent discount)

    (Summerhouse on Steam)

I’m not usually good at building games, even though I enjoy them a lot. That’s because I often get lost in the smallest details instead of paying attention to the big picture. Food supply? Watchtowers? Workplaces? Never mind, I first have to place the three bushes in perfect alignment. The end of the story: town destroyed, people gone, account empty – game over

Summerhouseis therefore perfect for me! Here I build individual houses and my obsession with details is even in focus… without rules and time pressure… I can tweak the facade, add or change the smallest facets and let my creativity run free…. It’s incredibly relaxing and really brightens my mood.

If you’re looking for a playful challenge, you won’t be happy here. My advice to everyone else: spend four euros and find out how satisfying the coordinated placement of individual windows can be – oh, I’m getting in the mood again!

    Severed Steel

    • Release: September 17, 2021
    • Genre: First-person shooter
    • Price: 4 euros (80 percent discount)

    (Severed Steel on Steam)

If you’d rather shoot than build, you’ll find your luck with my second tip. Because inSevered Steelthings are uncompromising and the action orgy also looks damn stylish!

What’s it all about? Well,Story is not a core competence of the first-person shooter You slip into the skin of the one-armed sniper Steel and … um, have to put lead in the asses of bad guys. Shall we skip this part? You definitely don’t play Severed Steel for the plot, but for the furious, fluid gameplay

Steelruns, jumps and slides through the levels at breakneck speed, which doesn’t result in finger cramps thanks to the catchy stunt system. Running along walls? Do a somersault while the bullets whizz through the air? No problem! Shooting is done inMatrix-like bullet time, which elicited regularOh!‘s andAh!‘s from my mouth, especially in the first few hours of play.

By the way: There’s also a level editor on top. And I recommend you spend an extra euro on the Digital Deluxe Edition so that you can enjoy the first-class soundtrack outside of the game too.

    Greak: Memories of Azur

    • Release: August 17, 2021
    • Genre: Action-Adventure
    • Price: 4 euros (75 percent discount)

(Greak: Memories of Azur in the Epic Store)

NoSören listat GlobalESportNews is complete without at least one nicheSören gameyou hear me?! So then: InGreak: Memories of Azurwe take on the role of the three siblings Greak, Adara and Raydel. Because their home world of Azur is under attack from the evil Courinen people, the trio want to build an airship and use it to escape.

At the start of the game, we first have to track down our siblings as Greak. Once this is done, the adventure really begins, because in the beautiful areas of Azur, theindividual abilitiesof the three playable characters must be used wisely to solvepuzzles, overcome obstacles and win battles.

I just love games like this and feel that Greak has never received the recognition it deserves thanks to the high quality of gameplay. Maybe the game will find a few new owners today, thanks to this article. Believe me, it’s worth it – if only for the live orchestral soundtrack!

      A Short Hike

      • Release: July 30, 2019
      • Genre: Adventure
      • Price: 4 euros (39 percent discount)

        (A Short Hike on GOG)

It’s early evening. My eyes are already getting heavy and my head doesn’t really want to. I’ve had an exhausting day at work. My little daughter Yuna is finally asleep after misappropriating me as a climbing tower, throwing toys at me and coughing in my face with an innocent expression. In anticipation of the next KITA germ, I ask myself: What am I supposed to do after a day like this?

A Short Hike is a perfect choice in such cases. The game hasone of the most beautiful open worlds I’ve ever explored– and it’s comparatively tiny. But that fits in wonderfully with the relaxing and at the same time enormously motivating game principle: As a young bird named Claire, I’m on summer vacation with my aunt and have to somehow pass the time on the small island

So I set off and immediately feel like a child again, running through woods and fields on my summer vacation (yes, I grew up in a small town).Nothing here feels like work I meet other children, have exciting adventures, explore the island, discover secrets and just have an all-round good time. Until I notice a tickle in my throat and start coughing. Thank you, Yuna

        Call of Cthulhu

        • Release: October 30, 2018
        • Genre: Action
        • Price: 4 euros (80 percent discount)

          (Call of Cthulu on GOG)

Call of Cthulhuis one of those games that divides opinion. In our test, Elenas detective game was awarded a very good 83 points. AtMetacriticon the other hand, it was rather punished with an average score of 63. A cucumber then? I say: not at all! You just need to know in advance what you’re getting for your four euros

At first glance, Call of Cthulu looks like a nerve-wracking horror game, but in reality it’s more of a thrilling crime adventure As private investigators in the 1920s, we explore an island to solve a death. Where it says Cthulu on it, Cthulu is in it: Naturally, we are soon drawn into a maelstrom of conspiracies, cultists and gruesome creatures.

However, the game is rarely really scary, which is perhaps the reason for the poor ratings. Well, or the very easy level of difficulty. Or the somewhat old-fashioned presentation. As you can see, Call of Cthulu is not a masterpiece, but in my eyes it is a super atmospheric experience from start to finish that I have fond memories of.

Now I’m curious: Were you able to do anything with any of my five game recommendations? If so, which titles can hope for a new home with you? Have you already played some of the tips yourself and did you like them as much as I did? Let me know in the comments!
