The co-op game Lethal Company is thrilling the masses. And an old high-flyer returns to the top position. These are the Steam top sellers of the week

At first, the weeks in the Steam top sellers are almost like two peas in a pod, and then suddenly things really get moving. This week offers a few surprises! On the one hand, the cooperative indie game Lethal Company announces great ambitions, and on the other, PUBG returns to number 1. And then there’s the return of a … classic?

Disclaimer: In the following, we list the ten best-selling games on Steam in the past week and discuss relevant developments. The basic information is based on data from (SteamDB) and is read directly from Steam.

The complete top 10 on Steam

  1. PUBG
  2. Call of Duty
  3. Counter-Strike 2
  4. Steam Deck
  5. Risk of Rain Returns
  6. Apex Legends
  7. Baldur’s Gate 3
  8. Lethal Company

Lethal Company

(Genre: Co-op Horror Game – Steam Release: October 23, 2023 (Early Access) – Price: 9,75 Euro)

The co-op game Lethal Company is hitting like an asteroid right now. Top seller position 8, around 47,000 simultaneously active players and, most remarkably, a whopping 97 percent positive rating from over 10,000 Steam users, in Early Access to boot. So good news across the board for the young indie developer Zeekerss.

In Lethal Company, you go on creepy and dangerous missions with friends to collect scrap metal on abandoned planetary outposts and use the proceeds to unlock even more profitable missions. All with a large dose of sci-fi horror

PUBG

(Genre: Multiplayer-Shooter – Steam-Release: December 21, 2017 – Price: Free2Play)

PUBG is one of, if not the most successful battle royale of all time. Although the all-time high of 3.2 million simultaneously active users on Steam has never been reached again (by anyone), new updates can certainly ensure an increase in players. And for the top position on Steam, measured by revenue.

This is what happened after the release of patch 26.2, which brought a new Crafter Pass into the game, with items that can be used to improve weapon skins. Developer Krafton also continued to fine-tune the balance and added a new map for Team Deathmatch: Pillar Compound

Risk of Rain Returns

(Genre: Roguelike-Platformer – Steam-Release: November 8, 2023 – Price: 14,99 Euro)

Can ten-year-old video games already be considered classics?  If so, then Risk of Rain is definitely one of them. It was only the sequel, Risk of Rain 2, that really attracted attention, but the first part has now been released in an improved version on Steam and is attracting masses of buyers.

This is enough for fifth place in this week’s top-selling Steam games. Not bad for a title that costs just 15 euros each. 45,000 simultaneously active players at the top also show that there’s a hell of a lot of buzz around it
