The Steam Winter Sale is currently offering a number of titles for dirt cheap. We have picked out a number of titles that you don’t even have to pay five euros for.
The annual winter promotion in the Steam Store is back and oh my, are there many reduced titles! If you’re not careful, however, the buying frenzy can quickly add up to a considerable sum. To make sure that doesn’t happen to you, we’ll only show you titles that have all made it under the 5 euro mark here!
Highlights under 5 Euros
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
(Gender: Action-Adventure – Developer: Respawn Entertainment – Year of publication: 2019 – Price: 4. 79 euros (reduced by 88 percent). If you want to spend a few cents less: At Gamesplanet the game is available for 2.50 euros, at Epic for 2.49 euros.)
Now is the perfect time to catch up on Fallen Order. Why. The sequel Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is already coming out in a few months and looks similarly brilliant in the trailer as the first one. And the adventure of Cal Cestis is absolutely worth a measly fiver.
You play the young Padawan and try to rebuild the Jedi Order after its disintegration. In the process, however, the Inquisition is breathing down your neck, whose goal is to completely eliminate all Jedi and Padawans. The story is so convincing that it has earned a place in our top 100 best story games.
The game is strongly reminiscent of a Souls-like in some gameplay mechanics: The challenging lightsaber battles and the save system are clearly inspired by it. But you can also adjust the difficulty yourself if you’re afraid of frustrating passages with thousands of deaths.
XCOM 2
(Genre: Round Tactics – Developer: Firaxis Games – Publication Year: 2016 – Price: 4,99 Euro (reduced by 90 percent)
The Earth has been conquered by aliens, the efforts in the predecessor XCOM: Enemy Unknown were in vain. But the battle is not over yet, as a guerrilla unit you are still rebelling against the alien oppressors. And it’s more fun than ever!
Round tactics is a game of compromise: Do I send the sniper up to the roof here? Higher hit probability, but then he can’t shoot this round. The grenadier could blast away the enemy’s defences, but I could save the grenade for later. Then it’s better to send the rancher to slash the alien with the machete – but then he’s completely without cover. A bit like chess, you try to weigh every possibility before you finally play your move.
XCOM 2 is probably the greatest genre representative currently available for just under five euros. By the way, the predecessor Enemy Unknown is also on offer and is even one euro cheaper.
