The end of Stranger Things is near and production is currently in full swing. Now there is the first news about the release, story and setting of season 5.

One of the biggest Netflix series of recent years is about to reach its final climax. Over four seasons, the story of Eleven, Mike and the gang thrilled its viewers.

Currently, the fifth season is in production and Netflix is now providing us with information about the release, the first photos and even the episode titles of the eight episodes in total.

Stranger Things Season 5: Release and episode titles

The fifth season of the mystery show is scheduled to appear on the streaming provider in 2025, Netflix announced on the official Stranger Things day (November 6, 2024). The date is a reference to Will Byers’ (Noah Schnapp) disappearance in the series.

However, an exact date for the broadcast has not yet been set. In March 2024, Eleven actress Millie Bobbie Brown stated that she still has a full nine months of filming ahead of her (via The Jonathan Ross Show ). So we probably can’t expect the new season before mid-2025.

A new teaser shows that the 5th season of Stranger Things will include eight episodes with the following meaningful titles:

  • Episode 1: The Search
  • Episode 2: The Disappearance of ____
  • Episode 3: The Turnbow Trap
  • Episode 4: The Wizard
  • Episode 5: The Electrocution
  • Episode 6: The Escape of Camazotz
  • Episode 7: The Bridge
  • Episode 8: Back to the Real World

actress Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley) stated in July 2024 in the podcast Podcrushed that each episode will be as long as a movie.

The official Stranger Things account on the platform X also provides us with some behind-the-scenes pictures. One photo shows Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) and Steve (Joe Keery) sitting in the car, laughing.

Actress Linda Hamilton will also be part of the cast in the final season, as Netflix announced in June 2023 (via IGN). Without a doubt, one of Hamilton’s most famous roles is as Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise.

The sci-fi series may end next year, but more spin-offs are planned within the Stranger Things universe.

However, the Duffer brothers have already refuted one fan theory about the finale. If you want to read about the assumption in question, feel free to check out the article linked above.
