It’s finally time to explore the unknown depths again. Early access for Subnautica 2 is announced for 2025.
It’s been far too long since we got a first sequel to the popular underwater spectacle with Subnautica: Below Zero If you still haven’t had enough after the frosty excursion, you can look forward to a new journey into the depths of foreign oceans soon, because another entry in the series has been officially confirmed.
Subnautica 2 is coming to Early Access
Krafton and Unknown Worlds have revealed the early access launch of Subnautica 2 for 2025 with a first trailer. As usual, you’ll be able to access it at release time via Steam, Epic Games and the Windows Store. However, there will also be a game preview for Xbox Series X/S and the Xbox Game Pass.
In the new Subnautica, you’ll once again go diving on a foreign planet. The AI of your ship will urge you to make the foreign waters habitable, even if you might see it differently in view of the giant sea monsters. So it’s up to you again to build a base, explore the area and make new discoveries that will make your life easier.
With sophisticated diving equipment, you will penetrate deeper and deeper into the ocean, exploring new biomes and confronting nightmarish creatures that are not so keen on the new intruder.
This time, however, you are not alone in your deep-sea escapades, because Subnautica 2 offers for the first time a multiplayer mode for up to four players
It has been known for a while that Subnautica 2 is coming. Most recently, however, fans of underwater fun were left gasping for breath, because a financial report from the publisher revealed that the long-awaited sequel would be based on the Game-as-a-Service principle.
There was great fear that season and battle passes awaited us , but Krafton was quick to take the wind out of our fears. Just like its predecessors, Subnautica 2 will only receive regular content updates.
