News on DC Games

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Genre: Action-Adventure – Developer: Rocksteady Studios – Release: 2022

A new trailer for the Suicide Squad game has been a long time coming. Now it’s finally here and reveals more about the story surrounding the chaotic villains and anti-heroes. Harley Quinn, King Shark and the rest of the squad get a damn difficult assignment: kill the Justice League! Its members are controlled by Brainiac. And you can see what a crazed Superman, Green Lantern or Flash could do in the video above.

Gotham Knights

Genre: Action Role-Playing Game – Developer: Warner Bros. Games Montreal – Release: 2022

In Gotham Knights Batman is already dead – at least that’s what the first trailer wants us to believe. That’s why Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Red Hood have to take on the powerful Court of Owls organisation. And it is precisely these adversaries that the new trailer is about. This time it has more of a horror than an action atmosphere. No wonder, since the game explicitly wants to set itself apart from the Arkham series.

News on DC Movies

New trailer for The Batman

Robert Pattinson plays the young Bruce Wayne in this noir-inspired film. The trailer also shows first scenes with Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) and Alfred (Andy Serkis). In addition, the Riddler appears right at the beginning, although he is still hiding his face.

New trailer for Black Adam

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson becomes the anti-hero Black Adam, a powerful nemesis of Shazam. A first trailer shows his dramatic appearance complete with black robe, scowl and superpowers. The film is set to hit cinemas in 2022.

Shazam: A teaser for the trailer

Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods won’t be released until sometime in 2023, so a proper trailer is – unsurprisingly – a long time coming. But at DC FanDome 2021, fans at least got to see a teaser for a trailer, complete with comments from Shazam actor Zachary Levi and other actors. Concept art is also presented that already shows some of the fantastic creatures to come.

Aquaman 2: Behind the Scenes

Jason Momoa takes you through the sets of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in a behind-the-scenes video. You can catch a glimpse of some pretty unusual artwork – apparently we get to see tropical forests and giant grasshoppers this time. And of course, the fate of the entire world is once again at stake in the story.

News on DC series

The Sandman

No new trailer for the upcoming Netflix series, but at least first images of Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer. The Sandman is based on a dark comic by Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Good Omens) and has no known release date yet.

New trailer for Peacemaker

Peacemaker will be a spinoff series to the new Suicide Squad (i.e. the reboot), starring John Cena as the eponymous character. He really uses every means at his disposal for his great goal, world peace. It will start on 16 January 2022 on HBO Max, but it is not yet known whether and where the series will be broadcast in Germany.

More series announcements:

  • The series Doom Patrol is getting a fourth season.
  • In Season 3 of Batwoman, familiar DC villains like Poison Ivy and Mad Hatter make their first appearance.
  • Titans will get a fourth season.
  • HBO Max has had a surprise release of the first two episodes of the new animated series Young Justice.
