During the showcase held yesterday, publisher Panic presented the pixel RPG adventure Arco. Even though the title looks cuddly, it grapples with serious issues.
Panic might be known to most from titles like Firewatch or Untitled Goose Game. Last night, the publisher held a nearly 20-minute showcase on upcoming titles. Alongside insane titles like Thank Goodness You’re Here! however, they also struck a more serious tone with the pixel adventure Arco. The RPG was developed by Max Cahill, Franek, Antonio “Fáyer” Uribe and José Ramón “Bibiki” García.
Tomorrow afternoon, Nintendo is hosting a Direct presentation for Super Mario Bros Wonder. Two months after the official announcement, a big deep dive finally follows.
Even though our favourite plumber has also conquered the 3D world over the years, he should be a product of the 2D realms, especially for long-time fans. That’s where he returns in the upcoming Super Mario Bros Wonder.
After the announcement in June, it had become somewhat quiet about the title. But now Nintendo has announced a Direct presentation to bring you some gameplay features in the sidescroller.
The Direct presentation of Super Mario Bros. Wonder will take place tomorrow, August 31 at 4pm and is expected to last just under a quarter of an hour Those who would like to follow the stream in German can visit the corresponding (Direct website) or the (YouTube channel)
In Arco, the colonising Red Company leaves a trail of death and devastation. Against this colonial power, the members of various tribes now rise up to oppose the hostile force together. So you travel on the backs of llamas to remote places, explore dungeons and deal with various enemies.
In the round-based battles your tactical skills and the use of individual abilities of your protagonists are most important. They do not only have weapons but also magical abilities
Small pixels, big questions
But how far can a vendetta go? To what extent can atrocities be justified “for the common good”? Arco also deals with these questions in the form of the blame system. When you commit an atrocity, you are haunted by the guilt in the form of ghosts that hinder you in battles.
Arco is scheduled for release 2024 for PC. You can already add the title to your wishlist on (Steam)
