Another Battle Royale? That’s exactly what Off the Grid will be. With the help of director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Chappie, Elysium), developer studio Gunzilla Games wants to take the genre to the next level. Ambitious plans, which of course have to be realised first. A first teaser trailer and a handful of details about Off the Grid are currently available, but concrete gameplay is still a long time coming.
Off the Grid is apparently set in a dark cyberpunk setting on a tropical island. The game will be played in third-person perspective and the battle royale is said to come with a story focus and corresponding missions. Players will have a direct influence on how the Off the Grid universe develops. By the way, up to 150 players can play on the map at the same time, and in addition to PvP, there are also PvE elements. Off the Grid is being developed in the Unreal Engine 5 and will be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
