A small team is currently working on the game Diesel Knights, which is based on the great shooter model. A prototype will be available soon as a free demo.
Ten years ago, the first Titanfall was released. The shooter focuses entirely on multiplayer action, pitting soldiers armed to the teeth and heavily armored mechs against each other.
The game Diesel Knights now wants to tie into these gameplay mechanics It is currently being developed by a small team led by character animator Xaver B. Johnson. And he recently expressed his amazement on Twitter at the reception the game has been getting lately.

On X, Johnson posted a screenshot on the official account of the game, showing the number of subscribers on YouTube This has increased enormously in the past few days. From a few dozen to more than 13,000.
Johnson writes about this:

Johnson also writes that the v0.3 prototype of Diesel Knights that the team is currently working on will be released as a free demo. The developer had announced this in the current YouTube videoabout the game.
In the video, Johnson talks about the progress in the game. Among other things, a new map is presented. At the end of the almost six-minute video, the announcement of the free demo is made.
No release date yet
The prerequisite for this is that the YouTube channel has 1,000 subscribers by the end of 2024. Meanwhile (as of September 26, 2024), there are more than 19,000.
On both platforms, Johnson receives positive feedback for the project. For example, the user Sorin Sorrel writes on X: “I can’t wait to try it out!” And the user @Schebbe writes on YouTube:

There is no specific release date for Diesel Knights yet. On Steam, the game is listed as an “upcoming announcement”. In his videos, Johnson suggests that he has been working on the game on and off for some time.
By the way: Diesel Knights is currently going to be a multiplayer-only game – just like Titanfall. Its successor, Titanfall 2, had a great story campaign. Fans waited years for a sequel.
And indeed, a new Titanfall game is said to have been in development. Although the title was never officially announced, it was hinted at several times by EA. But in early 2023, the company pulled the plug and buried the project.
