The best role-playing game of 2024? Metaphor starts with enormous advance praise

An average score of 94 out of a possible 100 points is remarkable. Metaphor: ReFantazio inspires in the tests. Now it just has to be loved by gamers.

On Metacritic, the new role-playing game from Persona makers Atlus is rated as highly as no other game in the genre since Baldur’s Gate 3 (average rating: 96). The story, game world, tasks and fights are praised all around. The title takes you to a fantasy world in which humans are the monsters and you have to help a prince ascend to the royal throne.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is released today, October 11, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
