A few days ago, Bethesda announced that it would be releasing the biggest Starfield update to date in mid-May. It contains lots of features that will make your life in space easier
After months of waiting, Bethesda has today given Starfield fans the first substantial patch to its space role-playing game As announced earlier this month, the update with the number 1. 11.36 provides a whole range of comfort improvements that players have repeatedly and vehemently requested.
Some of the changes were already explained by Bethesda in a video a few days ago, but we have also summarized the most important changes
for you in writing:
What’s inside?
- Improved environment map: With the update, Starfield finally gets a detailed, realistic map on which you can clearly recognize environmental details such as rocks, trees and outposts. According to Bethesda, no one will get lost anymore.
- New gameplay options: Do you find space battles too difficult but firefights on the ground too easy? No problem! You can now adjust the difficulty level for both separately.
- New decoration mode for spaceships: Similar to outposts, you can now freely design the interior of your ships. In Deco mode, you can place or remove furniture, pictures and other objects if you prefer to fly a tidy spaceship.
- New tabs in the loot menu: Inventory management is now much clearer thanks to the tabs. You can now filter by the inventory of merchants, the hold of your ship and crates.
- Disable dialog camera: If you don’t like the zoomed-in dialog view, Starfield now offers you the option to stay in shoulder view.
- New performance settings on Xbox: You can switch between a beautiful but fps-hungry visuals mode and a fast 60 fps performance mode.
In addition, the new Starfield update naturally offers a whole range of other improvements As always, you can find the full patch notes on the next page.

The latest update for Starfield’s is here and it brings some new features!
- Improved UI Maps – We’ve listened to your feedback and made some big improvements to the UI maps so you’ll always know where to go and won’t get lost on the way to your parents (and they didn’t buy that excuse anyway, you really should visit them).
- New Gameplay Options – For those of you who like an extra challenge or want to make some aspects of the game easier, you can customize your experience with brand new options in the settings menu. Want to make ground combat harder but ship combat easier? You can do just that!
- Ship decoration mode added for the interior of ships – now you can decorate your ships just like outposts!
- Tabbed container menus make inventory management easier.
- After entering Unity, properties and appearance can now be changed.
- The dialog camera can now be switched in the settings.
- Added display settings for Xbox Series X to prioritize graphics or performance, adjust frame rate target, and toggle VSync (Series X).
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Read on for a full list of fixes and improvements!
XBOX SERIES X DISPLAY-SETTINGS
We’ve heard from many of you that you’d like more control over graphics rendering and performance on Xbox, similar to how PC gamers can customize their experience. We’re now making that possible on Xbox Series X with a few options you can use to find the best solution for your playstyle and screen.
☻
For each of these options, we recommend a Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) display running at 120Hz, and make sure your Xbox is set to use it. If you have it set this way, Starfield will now default to a refresh rate of 40 while maintaining priority for full graphics.
- Frame rate target: You can now choose between 30, 40, 60 or an unlimited frame rate on VRR displays. If you do not have a VRR display with 120hz, you can still choose between 30 and 60. Selecting 60 on a non-VRR display can sometimes result in screen tearing.
- Prioritize: You can now prioritize between Visuals and Performance while trying to maintain the frame rate target. If you are aiming for a frame rate of 60 or more, we recommend setting the priority to Performance. The Visual setting will maintain the highest resolution while retaining full detail for special effects, lighting and crowds. The Performance setting reduces the internal resolution and details for special effects, lighting and crowds. In both modes, the internal resolution can be dynamically adjusted as the scenes or action intensify. When you switch between modes, you will see the lighting change briefly as the system adjusts to the new mode.
- VSync: You can now switch between VSync off or on. If you switch VSync off, the game frames will be separated from the refresh rate of the monitor, which can lead to screen tearing. If you switch VSync on, the frame rate is synchronized with the refresh rate of the monitor, which prevents tearing but limits the number of frames.
