At the end of the year, Baldur’s Gate comes around the corner again with a hearty surprise – or at least its cast members
The YouTuber (Dan Allen Gaming) published a video on December 27, 2023, showing excerpts from interviews with a total of 19 different actors from Baldur’s Gate 3 . In these they express their heartfelt thanks to the fans, talk about their experiences during filming and give tips about the game
The real faces behind the characters
This video provides a rare opportunity to see many of the key personalities behind the Baldur’s Gate 3 characters outside of their roles in a short space of time. You’ll probably recognize some of them instantly from their voices and be able to match them up, even without peeking. But see for yourself:
The video features Neil Newborn (Astarion), Devora Wilde (Lae’zel), Samantha Beart (Karlach), Tracy Wiles (Jaheira), Tim Downie (Gale) and many more. The former, for example, talks about how much he enjoyed filming and how he’s not ready to drop the role of Astarion just yet
Tracy Wiles, for example, advises you to keep her role Jaheira alive, even if it is sometimes difficult. Even if it means constantly reloading until you finally make it – a clear invitation to save-scumming! The story you get in return is worth it
Tim Downie, on the other hand, asks you to save Gale and please don’t rip his arm off when you meet him for the first time. He also thanks all the fans for playing, especially those who have included the wizard in their party. And Devora Wilde wants you to give Lae’zel a chance so that her story can unfold – even if her gruff manner can be off-putting at first.
The fans turn the tables
The comment column below the video writes a lot about how great the actors’ performance is and that Baldur’s Gate 3 has also become a role-playing milestone because of them. This has led to the community turning the tables and thanking Astarion, Karlach and co. YouTube user (DanielHebell) for example writes:
