The relaxed and popular build-up strategy game Islanders is getting an official sequel, and once again it doesn’t need orcs, explosions or stress.
Islanders: New Shores is the sequel to a minimalist city-building sim from 2019. In the summer of 2025, fans of Islanders will once again be able to plant pretty miniature buildings on the islands from the pastel color box and go on a high-score hunt.
Auf zu neuen Ufern
Am grundsätzlichen Spielprinzip von Islanders ändert sich auch mit New Shores nichts. Auf prozedural generierten Inseln platziert ihr verschiedene Gebäude.
You then receive points for the buildings, depending on where they are placed on the island and what is around them. Once you crack a certain mark, you unlock more buildings and the whole thing starts over.
Each island is a small puzzleand you’ll need to cleverly place your limited number of buildings to generate enough points to unlock the next batch.
In New Shores, there are a total of44 unique building typesand there areseven island featuresthat you have to consider when placing them.
New are unique advantages that you can unlock in the course of the game with particularly good scores and use on later, more difficult islands.
In addition, there are now two different modes, each with their own save game. Alongside the familiar high score mode , there is now also a sandbox variant with more freedom.
Islanders: New Shores does not yet have a specific release date. The release is planned for PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X & S, and Nintendo Switch.
