Even before the launch of EA’s big rival product, Konami has released the next version of its own brand eFootball. Initially only for mobile devices, the PC and console version is already waiting in the wings.
This Wednesday, the time has finally come – at least for all smartphone or tablet users. The Japanese developer Konami has released the first major update for the mobile version of eFootball 2024. Although it is only possible for players to play offline against the AI, the actual release should not be too long in coming. The app states that the successor to Pro Evolution Soccer is currently undergoing a general overhaul and will be fully available from 7 September.
Fans will not have to be patient much longer with the console and PC versions either. The updated version of eFootball 2024 can already be found in the Microsoft Store and the PlayStation Network and is once again inspired by Lionel Messi, who moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Inter Miami in the United States a few weeks ago. Here, the reigning world champion is causing quite a stir and attracting viewers from Hollywood.

The Messi Edition
For both the mobile and console/PC versions, there is a dedicated Leo Messi Edition in the respective stores, which offers appropriately branded additional content. For a price of 19.99 euros, players receive, among other things, a unique Messi card for the in-house game mode “Dreamteam”. This works similarly to the Ultimate Team mode, as known from Electronic Arts’ FIFA series and in the future EAFC series.
The following content can be found in the eFootball™ 2024: Leo Messi Edition:
- Epic: L. Messi (2022 Argentina) x1 (player) *Players with the booster “Technique + 2″.
- Highlight player cards x10 (player)
- 4,000 EP Training Programme x11 (Player Development Items)
- 300 eFootball™ coins (in-game currency)
The game, like the previously released version, will be available to download for free as a Free-2-Play title from the respective stores.
