The game Omno has created a lot of hype on Tiktok. But this did not only help the game. In the meantime, the developer lost sight of his original idea. So he found his way back.

Omno was the project of a single developer for a long time. Freelance animator Jonas Manke started as a side project, but quickly received a lot of encouragement and went public with his prototype. Further encouragement and a successful Kickstarter campaign followed. The game was also enthusiastically received on the social media platform Tiktok and reached several hundred thousand views with its posts. But what does that do to a developer when suddenly the whole world seems to be interested in his small project?

Basically, Jonas Manke wanted to teach himself something new. He had already worked as a freelance animator on games and films. For example, he worked on the development of State of Decay. Already the main character of Omno looked almost like it does today. But with the success on Kickstarter came doubts: Were the backers perhaps raised false hopes? And so Omno changed in the course of development and moved further and further away from the basic idea. Jonas recognised this in time, however, and now has the game he originally wanted to make ready for release.

Have you ever supported small games that you had a different impression of before? Let us know in the comments.
