Fresh gameplay of the new game from the Ori makers is causing a stir in the YouTube community. We’ll tell you why
The Ori creators at Moon Studios are currently working on the action role-playing game No Rest for the Wicked, which does not yet have a fixed release date. When it was announced at the Game Awards 2023, it quickly became clear at first glance: Ui, this game looks pretty dark!
Now there’s brand new gameplay to marvel at. As part of the IGN First video series, the development team provides a first in-depth look at the gameplay. And it’s worth staying tuned, because there’s even a boss fight to marvel at at the end.
Here you can take a look at the new gameplay for yourself:
Excitement in the comments
Many of the viewers are obviously very taken with what they have seen. The comments section below the video is not short of praise and other exclamations of enthusiasm.
Many users are particularly impressed by the animations of the characters and the environment. The lighting mood and the resulting oppressive atmosphere are also described as the hammer
. Further reactions read as follows:
The atmosphere is incredible. I’ll be keeping an eye on it.
The animations are amazing, so fluid and you can feel the impact of every swing and explosion. I’m looking forward to this game!
This looks excellent. It’s like a dark, gritty Ori style from an isometric perspective. I can’t wait to try this out!
What also becomes clear when looking at the new gameplay: No Rest for the Wicked is reminiscent of soulslikes such as Dark Souls and Elden Ring in terms of combat and movement. The title will probably not be quite as difficult, but some users have also noticed the parallels:
Is this really a Soulslike?
Character rolls through the barrels
Now good.
The bro only had 1% HP left and could have ended the fight, but he had to parry extra, what a chad.
New information about No Rest for the Wicked will be available soon. Moon Studios would like to present a showcase called Wicked Inside
on March 1, 2024 to show more facets of the action role-playing game. You can find more information on the official website for the showcase
YouTube is all well and good, but we are of course even more interested in your opinion: What do you think of the new gameplay of No Rest for the Wicked? Do you like the atmosphere, animations and effects as much? What do you think of the slight Souls-like influence in the combat system?
