A new trailer for Horizon Forbidden West presents the challenges that await Aloy away from the main missions. Those who played the first part will already be familiar with some of them.

Like its predecessor, Horizon Forbidden West will also live from an eventful environment. When Aloy doesn’t want to deal with the main story, a lot of side missions and challenges await her. While some challenges, such as the hunting grounds, will already be familiar to fans from the first part, there are also various new missions to discover. Guerilla and PlayStation present these in the new trailer.

First, the new trailer talks about the various pieces of equipment that Aloy can obtain during the course of the game. As in the first part, the outfits can be adapted to the respective situations and strengthened. The same applies to Aloy’s main weapon, the spear. Players will be able to modify it even further thanks to the newly introduced workbench.
When it comes to gaining practical experience, arenas and the hunting grounds are available. The arenas are newly introduced in Horizon Forbidden West and apparently offer battles against both humans and machines.

Familiar places & missions in Horizon Forbidden West

If you’re a fan of exploration, you can put your skills to the test in salvage missions. If you are more in the mood for thrills, outposts and camps of Regalla’s criminals offer the right challenge. These side missions are also familiar activities from Horizon Zero Dawn. In the style of the first part, the breeding grounds in Horizon Forbidden West are of course not to be missed. Other caves also await them with hidden treasures and secrets.
These could probably contain various collectibles or keys for a special reward. In the first part, this was a sturdy suit of armour.
