Developer Red Barrels announced last night that The Outlast Trials has reached gold status. The horror title will be ready for release in less than a month. Console gamers will then finally be able to explore the Sinyala Faculty.
The Outlast Trials went into Early Access in May 2023. Since then, Red Barrels has been experimenting with a number of features and discussing them with the community. Now the horror multiplayer seems to have been polished to such an extent that the developer has officially announced gold status. The full version of the title should be available for consoles as early as the beginning of March. Whether there will be cross-play has not yet been clearly confirmed. Last year, at least efforts were made to do so
In the corresponding message, Red Barrels thanks the community for the exchange and the console gamers for their patience.
The Outlast Trials is a prequel to the first two games. However, unlike in the other parts, you are not guided through the story in a linear fashion. Instead, you will have to uncover the story bit by bit through documents, cinematics and other breadcrumbs. This will allow us to learn more about Morkoff and their “Project Lathe”, which was carried out in the late 1950s.
On March 5, the full version of The Outlast Trials will be released for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Those who have already purchased the title in Early Access will receive the exclusive Grizzly Hazmat Suit. Pre-orders are now being accepted on the official website.
