In mid-March, Supermassive Games announced The Quarry. A group of teenagers at an abandoned summer camp, the 70s sepia filter and a spooky secret lurking in the deep woods. What could provide a better setting for a horror game?
We already explained the iconic setting of The Quarry in our last post (). As in Supermassive’s other games, you experience an interactive film in which you control a group of teenagers. The goal? Survive the night and hold out until the next morning. To give those interested another taste, IGN presents a 30-minute gameplay video.
Getting lost on a late night drive can have violent consequences. This is impressively demonstrated by the first gameplay material of The Quarry. At the beginning, Supermassive once again provides us with an atmospheric intro song that familiarises us with the gloomy environment. Following this, we get to know Max and Laura, who have lost their way on the way to Camp Hackett’s Quarry. At this point, the couple is not expecting that this evening might have sealed their fate.
At the same time, the question arises what sinister machinations the policeman Travis is up to. However, after titles like Until Dawn, we know that not everything is as it seems at first glance. Perhaps the creepy cop just wants to save the environment from whatever lurks in the eerie basement.
On 10 June you can get to the bottom of this mystery yourself. Then The Quarry will be released for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Further information and pre-order options can be found on the (official website).
