The Quarry: What you need to know until the launch

In less than two weeks, the horror game The Quarry will be released. So that you are perfectly prepared for the launch, we provide you with a few key facts about the game. We also go into the system requirements that your PC must meet for the game.

After Supermassive Games had a huge hit with Until Dawn, the other titles of the Dark Pictures Anthology were rather mediocre. Now The Quarry is set to return to its successful days. The upcoming splatter shocker takes you on a journey to the horror films of the 1980s. At the centre are the nine counsellors of the Hackett’s Quarry summer camp, who spend one last night together on the grounds. However, they have no idea that with the end of the holiday season, something evil has begun hunting them down.

Gameplay of The Quarry

Similar to Until Dawn, The Quarry is a ten-hour interactive film. You control all nine camp counsellors as you experience their last night together. As events come to a head, you begin to gather evidence and clues to solve the mysteries surrounding Hackett’s Quarry. At the same time, you have to make decisions. These not only influence the interpersonal relationships of the protagonists, but also the further course of the plot. Thanks to these different possibilities, there are a total of 186 endings to discover. Watch the first half hour of gameplay here.

You can personalise The Quarry’s gameplay experience thanks to the different modes. Not only can you set whether everyone should survive or die. You can also set the movie mode, which means you don’t have to press a single button to finish the game. Just set the character traits of the camp counsellors and watch the events unfold.

Enjoy alone and with friends

A movie night is especially fun when you can enjoy it together with friends. That’s why The Quarry also offers you multiplayer mode, which lets you play with each other in various ways. In online multiplayer, the host can invite up to 7 friends to watch him play. If decisions are made, the spectators vote. In couch co-op, each player is assigned a role, so the controller is passed around as the game progresses. Note, however, that multiplayer will not be playable until 8 July. The developers need the extra time for some final touches, as they let slip on social media.
