In December, the expansion For Rent will be released for The Sims 4, which takes you to a new city and lets you build apartment buildings for the first time
Even after nine years, The Sims 4 is not yet at the end: With a short trailer (which you can watch below), the developers are now presenting their next expansion for the life simulation game: For Rent
, which lets you experience life as a tenant or landlord in all its facets. Our Sims can also move to a new city
What does the expansion bring?
The two biggest new features of For Rent
are the city of Tomarang, inspired by Southeast Asian culture, and the ability to build multi-family houses and apartments. The expansion will be released on December 7, 2023
We want to summarize the most exciting (so far known) contents of the expansion but also once again:
- Tomarang: A Southeast Asian-looking city in a tropical landscape. Here you can discover a botanical garden, an animal sanctuary and a night-time street market.
- Multi-family houses: For the first time in Sims 4, you can now build buildings with several apartments or apartments in which different parties and families live together. These new houses can be built in any world.
- New interactions: The new multi-family houses naturally result in completely new encounters and challenges for your Sims. You can meet up with your neighbors, eavesdrop on their doors or break into their homes, fight with troublemakers and much more.
- Living as a landlord or tenant: As a landlord, you have to keep the residents of your property happy and make sure that the electricity and hot water are working and that there are no insects or mold in the house. Sims who rent are afraid of being kicked out or want to be the best possible neighbors.
- New dishes and building options: The Southeast Asian setting also gives you the opportunity to cook new dishes. You can also build houses and purchase furnishings that are stylistically based on the region.
