The graphics of the exceptional role-playing game The Witcher 3 have been continuously refined over the years. A new video shows that it can be even better
The Witcher 3 was only taken to a whole new level graphically in 2022 thanks to the next-gen update. Various modders were also responsible for this, as they had been continuously optimizing the visuals of the role-playing game in previous years. Some of the mods were even officially integrated into the game with the next-gen update
One of these mods is the project by modder Halk Hogan called HD Reworked The package is largely responsible for the fact that the textures in the current next-gen version look so fresh and crisp
But apparently that’s not enough for him. Halk Hogan is currently working on a new version of the mod, which should even further improve the textures of the next-gen update. So basically, he is currently modifying his own mod
A new video now shows how HD Reworked NextGen Edition compares to the original release and thus how far the role-playing game has come in the last eight years.
A new must-have mod for Witcher fans?
Before the HD Reworked Mod was officially integrated, the project was long considered a must-have mod that every fan should install. Simply because the graphical leap was so impressive without clashing with the style of the original
Many people also appreciated the fact that the mod only had a minimal impact on performance despite the improved visuals. Those who were able to play Witcher 3 smoothly on the highest settings anyway were generally able to install the mod.
The hope is, of course, that the new version for the next-gen version will be very similar. You can see above how much it reworks the original game. There is also a comparison video in which you can also see how the new textures differ from those of the next-gen version.
There is currently no release date for the complete mod. But in December, Halk Hogan released a small preview versionthat at least reworks the stones in the game. You can already download this mod
Halk Hogan is not only working on beautifying The Witcher 3. The modder is also working on extensive mods for other open-world role-playing games, including Cyberpunk 2077, for example, and has even released an initial version for Starfield. So if you’re longing for sharper textures in these games too, Halk Hogan’s mods are a reliable place to start.
