Eredin, the King of the Wild Hunt: The antagonist is to appear in both Season 2 of the Netflix series and the prequel series Blood Origin.
Apparently Witcher fans will see Eredin Bréacc Glass, the villain from Witcher 3, in both the second season of the series and the prequel spinoff Blood Origin. The prequel series is already in production for Netflix.
Both casts were announced by the website Redanian Intelligence, which has already made a name for itself in the past with accurate statements. However, take the information with a grain of salt, because nothing has been officially confirmed. However, Redanian Intelligence is considered a reliable insider source, so the chances are good.
The Two Eredins
Allegedly, two different actors will play the role of Eredin: In Blood Origin, Australian actor Jacob Collins-Levy is said to make an appearance, while in Season 2 of the main series, Sam Hazeldine will play the alder elf.
This would also fit the story well: The supernatural Eredin would look older in the main series, which is after all set some 1,200 years after the events of Blood Origin. Sam Hazeldine is 49 years old, while Jacob Collins-Levy is 29 years young.
More about Blood Origin
The prequel series tells the story of the fantasy world before the first sorcerers existed. The world-changing event of the Conjunction of the Spheres, which brought monsters and magic into the world, had not yet taken place in Blood Origin. Thus, there was no need for sorcerers, who were later created to fight the dangerous monsters.
Blood Origin does not yet have a release date. So when the series will be released is still up in the air.
The second Witcher season, on the other hand, had already finished filming in April 2021, with a Netflix launch planned for the fourth quarter of 2021. In addition, a third season of The Witcher is reportedly already in the works on Netflix.
