There are 13 cool games on Steam right now at a great discount

It’s discount time again at Valve. We’re picking out the highlights of the Steam sale so you don’t have to.

This week’s deals range from adventure to first-person shooter, indie to triple-A, and single player to MMO. With System Shock Remake, there is even a fairly new game that is significantly reduced on Steam for the first time. But there are also many games that have been around for a few years and still belong to the absolute top class of gaming that you can pick up for a good price.

With the System Shock remake, a real gaming milestone was given a new lease of life at the beginning of this year, which is considered to be the spiritual origin of Bioshock . The remake was also sorely needed, because almost 30 years after the release, there was not much left of the polished graphics, the atmospheric horror elements and the grandiose gameplay.

Despite the cartoony graphics, the dark setting of a crazed AI in the spaceship Citadel creates a nerve-wracking experience that should make survival horror fans sit up and take notice. The sometimes tricky puzzles between extensive Baller passages also enhance the gameplay.

The word Baller-Passages is deliberately kept in inverted commas, because especially at the beginning you have to be very careful with your ammunition and can’t just shoot without inhibition, which makes the game even more exciting.

As good as the game may be, it’s not perfect. Despite the stunning 91 percent positive reviews on Steam, we also found flaws in our test. The weapons don’t feel powerful, which takes some of the fun out of the battles. You shouldn’t expect a gripping story either, because the game lives primarily from its successful atmosphere and gameplay.

Unfortunately, you spend a lot of time wandering around, because System Shock hardly gives you any hints about what you have to do. Moreover, it can quickly happen that you get lost in the labyrinth-like corridors during the many tours through the spaceship. But if you are a bit frustrated, you can have a lot of fun with the System Shock remake. If you are still undecided, you can try (the free demo on Steam)
